Which struts to use with lowering springs?
Hey all, looks like ill be buying Ryan's old lowering springs. They will be lowering the car approx 2" in the front and 2.5" on the back. Which struts will be good to use with lowering springs? I would like to keep cost down but not buy junk.

It sounds like the SS/TC struts work quite well with lowering springs. I don't think I would go crazy and buy a set of koni's or anything.

How much do SS/TC struts run for? Yeah the koni's are nice but a little too expensive.

At the stealership SS/TC front struts are $495 for PS and $475 for DS and rear shock are $149 each IIRC. I got all 4 for $450 shipped from a good connection. I believe he got them from a dealership in New Jersey.

Crate engine depot has the struts for $110 US each and the shocks for $60 US but there will be exchange and shipping on the parts.

CED has the TC shocks, but according to John Powell the struts the have are not the TC struts.
This would however probably be your best bang for buck.

This doesn't look like too bad of a deal; http://www.crateenginedepot.com/store/product2.aspx?UserID=9620987&SessionID=wlEQlsLu4xF1WQk6mVDt&Product_ID=2433

As mentioned... the TC struts are a good upgrade.
If you don't want to hand out the cash now, you can always use your stock ones for now, as the 2.4's came with FE5 struts (SS/SC style).

Technically they are an fe3, however I think the shocks were the same, springs were different.

I think the springs are shorter and stiffer then the 2.4's which would make sense so im most likely stating a known fact .... lol
