Broken Emergency Brake
Well the ratcheting mechanism broke on my ebrake a couple days ago, and it is a major pain in the butt. I can't use my command start which really sucks. Is there a fix to this that i can do, or should i just turn it over to the dealership?

your correct i dont. but i dont need it I want it
bit of a difference
I'd rather go out, start the car, look at the gauges to know things are ok.. then go back inside
It's a trucker thing.....

Well, what you CAN do in the mean time is just ground the wire out somewhere that the command start uses to see if the e-brake is engaged.
The computer will think it's engaged if the wire is grounded out to your frame to complete the circuit.

i beleive the ebrake works the other way. but i was messing around with it, and i dont think i can trick it. Its kind of odd. There must be some other connection im missing out on. Not to mention its not the greatest idea just to have the car sitting there free to roll haha

Re: Broken Emergency Brake
Well i got it fixed. They replaced the whole handle, so basically everything except the plastic piece. However it took them 8 hours to do what is pretty much a 20 min job.
